Code of Ethics

1. Respect and Professionalism

  • All instructors, members, and staff must treat each other with respect and courtesy. Abusive, profane, derogatory, or other inappropriate language or behavior is not tolerated. All members are expected to represent Legacy Production Company with professionalism at all times, both within and outside the organization.

 

2. Integrity and Honesty

  • Uphold the highest standards of integrity and honesty in all interactions. This includes being truthful, transparent, and accountable for your actions.

 

3. Safe and Inclusive Environment

  • Promote a safe and inclusive environment for all participants, free from harassment, discrimination, bullying, hazing, or any other harmful behavior. Support and encourage a culture of acceptance, where all members feel valued and respected.

 

4. Compliance with Laws and Guidelines

  • Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and the guidelines set forth by Winter Guard International (WGI) and Legacy Production Company. This includes completing all required background checks, certifications, and adhering to health and safety protocols.

 

5. Cleanliness and Hygiene

  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all shared spaces, including rehearsal areas, housing, and transportation. Members are expected to clean up after themselves, respect the facilities used, and ensure personal hygiene to contribute to a healthy and pleasant environment for everyone.

 

6. Dating

  • While personal relationships are respected, they must not interfere with the professional environment or performance. Staff members and volunteers are prohibited from engaging in romantic relationships with members. Relationships between members should be conducted with respect and discretion, ensuring that they do not disrupt the organization's operations.

 

7. Travel

  • Members must adhere to designated travel arrangements and respect all accommodations provided by the organization. This includes maintaining professional conduct at all times during travel and in housing facilities.

  • Bus Behavior: Members must maintain respectful behavior on buses and other transportation provided by the organization. This includes refraining from disruptive activities, keeping the area clean, and following safety guidelines such as remaining seated while the bus is in motion.

 

8. Social Media Conduct

  • Use social media responsibly. Refrain from posting negative comments or engaging in behavior that could harm the reputation of Legacy Production Company or its members. Always represent the organization positively online.

 

9. No Drugs or Alcohol

  • The illegal use of drugs or alcohol is strictly prohibited during any Legacy Production Company activities, including rehearsals, performances, and travel. Members of legal drinking age must also refrain from consuming alcohol during any Legacy activities.

 

10. Bullying and Harassment

  • Bullying and harassment in any form are strictly prohibited. This includes physical, verbal, and social abuse, as well as creating a hostile or intimidating environment for any member.

 

11. Whistleblower Policy

  • Anti-Retaliation: Legacy Production Company strictly prohibits any form of retaliation against individuals who report misconduct in good faith.

  • Whistleblower Protection: Legacy Production Company encourages the reporting of unethical behavior, misconduct, or any violations of this Code of Ethics. Reports can be made anonymously, and the organization will protect whistleblowers from retaliation.

  • Reporting Procedure: Reports should be directed to the designated Ethics Officer or through an anonymous reporting system if available. All complaints will be investigated thoroughly and confidentially, with appropriate actions taken based on findings.

 

12. Hazing

  • Hazing in any form is strictly prohibited. This includes any activity that endangers, humiliates, or degrades any member as a condition of joining or being accepted by the group.

 

13. Hostile Rehearsal Environment

  • Rehearsal environments should be supportive and educational. Any conduct that creates a hostile or intimidating environment, including withholding necessary information, personal attacks, or excessive physical demands, is prohibited.

 

14. Sexual Misconduct

  • Sexual misconduct, including harassment, exploitation, and exposure to inappropriate content, is strictly prohibited. Any violations should be reported immediately to the appropriate authorities.

 

15. Weapons

  • The possession or use of firearms, weapons, or any other dangerous items is strictly prohibited at all Legacy Production Company events and venues.

 

16. Confidentiality

  • Respect the confidentiality of the organization’s proprietary information, including show designs, instructional methods, and member information. Do not disclose any confidential information without proper authorization.

 

17. Commitment to Excellence

  • All members are expected to strive for excellence in all their endeavors, both on and off the field. This includes being prepared, punctual, and fully committed to the success of Legacy Production Company.

 

18. Acknowledgment

  • By participating in Legacy Production Company, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by this Code of Ethics. Your commitment to these principles ensures a positive and productive environment for all.
